Sumer Fellow

Hope Runs has partnered with the Sumer Nicole Alvarez Foundation to provide summer field fellowships to interested volunteers.

Each orphanage site hosts several volunteers, and our volunteers work and live together for their duration of their fellowship, which is a minimum of 8 weeks long. Although the majority of Sumer Alvarez fellows are young adults serving during summer breaks, such a service experience is available to all ages, throughout the year, and for longer durations of stay as well. In select cases we will also consider shorter term assignments.

Hope Runs seeks extraordinarily motivated individuals who show a real passion for their area of interest - whether it be art, athletics, technology, or anything else. We encourage fellows to apply to become a Sumer Alvarez fellow with a specific project they are interested in carrying out during the summer.

We provide all logistical placement and coordination of volunteers. We also support the fellows in facilitating the on-going projects at Hope Runs sites, including our running programs and technology initiatives.

In preparation for their experience, Sumer Alvarez fellows raise funds to support the cost of their stay in the orphanage and to fund their project.
